Frequently Asked Questions

Why come to Safe Haven?

There are many reasons but one I want to highlight here; I will not judge you. I see myself as a fellow fallible human being. I will tell you the truth as I see it but in a manner that is designed to help you achieve greater fulfillment, not tear you down.

Parking

I am located at the corner of Main and North Streets. Park on the North Street side of the building. Enter in the second side entrance- there are steps and a small porch there. You’ll enter a small lobby where you can wait or, if I have my downstairs office open, you may wait there as well.  I’ll come down to meet you. There are restrooms at the end of the hallways on the bottom floor.

Hours

Generally, Mondays through Fridays by appointment, Saturday morning and early afternoon. I offer flexible hours and will work with you to find a time.

Teletherapy

I am providing teletherapy appointments as an option- these are audio/video appointments. As of now insurances are still covering teletherapy.

Fees

I charge $90 for a 50 minute session. I do offer a sliding scale and a flexible appointment schedule.

Insurance

I currently accept Aetna, Anthem, CareSource Marketplace (not Medicaid), Cigna, Humana, Medical Mutual, Ohio Health/Optima, Ohio State, Tricare, United Behavioral Health (United Healthcare) and UMR.  Ohio Health, Ohio State as well as several Employee Assistance Programs, including Aetna, Cigna, Magellan, OSU and United.

Contact Us

You can contact me at (614) 315-4190 or by email sandy@safe-havencounseling.com If you have a counseling emergency leave me a voice mail and call Netcare at 276-2273.

Appointment Availability

I try to see as many clients as I can and still provide the best care. Occasionally I am full and I wait a month to see what I have open. Expect at least to wait 2 to 3 weeks for an appointment when I am able to add new clients.

Do I need to bring anything to my first appointment

If you could download and complete the Client Information Form, the Informed Consent Form, the Teletherapy Consent form and the Privacy Notice from the Forms section of this website that would help your first appointment be more productive. Please also bring a copy of your insurance card. If you are meeting via teletherapy I can email you these forms.
